About backlink.org.uk
I created this directory because when I was submitting my domains to various directories a number of things frustrated me. Backlink.org.uk tries to provide a fair and worthwhile resource while addressing issues that I felt other directories have.
Why you should submit your URL to backlink.org.uk
- The more backlinks you have the more trusted your domain will appear to be to search engines improving your ranking
- Some people believe a backlink from a .org.uk domain has a higher value to search engines
- Using the tag based system your link will only appear on relevant pages further improving your search engine optimisation (SEO)
- Listings are ordered randomly not by date or title so that each domain has a fair chance of being on the first page
- Whilst backlink.org.uk appreciates links we don't force a reciprocal link for submission. We believe that the resource Backlink.org.uk provides should be good enough that people should want to link to us.
- All listings are manually validated to ensure specific guidelines are met keeping the directory relevant and spam free
- Current news articles and images relating to tags are pulled through to the first page helping to keep links relevant to your content
- It is all totally free!
All for free?
Yes you can add any number of domains totally free of charge. Backlink.org.uk aims to never charge for submissions and hopes to recuperate the costs involved in running the directory from advertising and donations.
How long is the approval period?
The approval period is basically as soon as I get round to approving the submission. I'll try to approve everything within 1 working day but it obviously depends on my schedule and how many submissions there are but I can promise to do it as soon as possible.

Where did the idea come from?
I was fed up with looking for free directories to submit my domains to; a lot advertised they were free but then asked for payment, often at the last hurdle after entering all your information. Some were badly managed and organised so links from them weren't worth as much as they should be because of all the spam and irrelevant content. Others wanted reciprocal links with fancy A to B, C to A linking schemes.
I was in the pub when the idea to create my own directory hit me! I was so hyped up about it as soon as I got home I registered the domain name, unfortunately as I had been drinking I registered linkback.org.uk instead of backlink.org.uk. I realised what I had done in the morning and registered the domain I wanted and began coding.
